Welcome to Chemistry Department

             The Department of Chemistry of the R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College was started in June 1960. This is one of the largest science department of the college. Currently Prof. Dr. A. N. Jagdale is working as the Head of Department.

Department is located in an independent and large building which has 08 well equipped laboratories, 01 digital class room with all ICT facilities and o1 soil and water testing and consultancy laboratory which is recognized by Govt. of Maharashtra.

 Courses offered:The department offers B. Sc, M. Sc Organic chemistry, M. Sc. Analytical Chemistry and M. Phil. Courses to students. The average strength of the undergraduate students is nearly 570 and 114 of the M. Sc. Courses in Chemistry.

 Post graduates Courses:In June 1989 non-grant post graduate course in Organic Chemistry was started in the department which contributed to the development of the department. Later on in the academic year 2007-2008 M. Sc in Analytical Chemistry was also started. Some of our students successfully qualified competitive examinations like NET, SET, GATE, GRE, CSIR examinations. Many of our students are pursuing Ph. D. Most of the alumni are holding respected positions in various organizations.

 Teaching Faculty:There are 05 permanent and 07 clock hour basis professors for UG and PG classes. 03 of them hold Ph. D. degrees and 01 registered for Ph. D. Two professors are recognized as M. Phil. Guide.
