Year of Establishment:

• The department of Economics was established in the year 1963 to impart UG and PG in the year 1970
• We have permanent affiliation for Economics at UG level since 1972, and at PG level since 1997- 98
• Though the college situated in rural area. The Department has provided great opportunity to research student and the department established M. Phil. (Economics) Research Centre in the  Academic year 2007- 08.
• Recognized Ph. D. Economic Research Centre in the year 2017.

Mission, Aims and Objectives of the Department

Mission

        To create the awareness among the students of the world economy and Indian economy and to discuss current issues and Provide relevant, up-to-date, and career – oriented education in Economics.

AIMS

             To develop Rational Approach for Economic behaviors  and values in younger generation by teaching,  learning, research and extension services, supporting effective qualities and skill of students for growing them into society as responsible and excellent human

OBJECTIVES

• Up gradation of Knowledge in recent trends and developments in Economics.
• To acquaint recent trends and skills in different branches of Economics.
• To guide and support the students for field study and research work in the subject.
• To create environmental and social awareness by exposing students to various activities.
• To guide and support the students for field study and research work in the subject.
• To conduct Socio-Economic Survey and economic extension activities.
• To encourage the Students in solving the various economic problems.
• To conduct Seminars / Workshops /Conferences on different topics and to publish the papers presented.
• To make the Students fit for employment^.
