It gives me great pleasure to present you the first issue of a Newsletter of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha’s NAAC accredited A+ (CGPA 3.44) R.B.Narayanrao Borwake College, Shrirampur. R.B. Narayanrao Borawke College has been striving for the attainment of its vision and mission, adhering to the principle of amelioration of the masses. The present Newsletter aims to enrich and strengthen the institute by highlighting the various programmes, activities, projects and events. I am sure that this Newsletter will serve its cause of upliftment of the institute.

I am indeed happy to hand over you the first issue of ‘Horizon’, a Newsletter of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha’s R.B.Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur. The prime objective education is to create good citizens to serve the nation and humanity at large. In my view, this Newsletter will motivate stakeholders to contribute for the enrichment of the college.
Rayat Shikshan Sanstha’s R.B.Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur is one of the leading premier educational institutes which was established on 15th June, 1960. The college is having vibrant and amiable academic ambiance. I am very much delighted to share with you that with total devotion and dedication from the Principal and integrity of all the faculty members the college could produce excellent academic environment on the campus.

‘Sadbhavna Diwas’
Today on 20th August 2021, The NSS unit of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha’s R.B. Narayanrao Borawake College Shrirampur Dist- Ahmednagar celebrated ‘Sadbhavna Diwas’ to mark the birth anniversary of late Prime Minister of India Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi . On this occasion, volunteers were given oath by Principal Gaikwad N.S. and briefed the notable achievements of Mr. Rajiv Gandhi.
Birthday of Major Dhyanchand and National Sports Day
The magician of Hockey is observed as National Sports Day to pay tribute to him for his invaluable service to the nation and sports. the college. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Gaikwad N. S. Gaikwad encouraged students to take active participation in various sports. Director of Physical Mr. Dhere Sambhaji gave information of available sport facilities and emphasized on the necessity of sports in personal life.
Covid-19 vaccination
Covid-19 vaccination campaign was organized in the college on 8th October 2021. It was a joint venture of Student Development Board of the college and Sub-District Rural Hospital, Shrirampur .It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Meenatai Jagadhane, President, Rayat Shaikshnik Sankul, Shrirampur . karmveer Bhaurao Patil on his 134th birth anniversary
Tribute to founder of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Padmbhushan ,late karmveer Bhaurao Patil on his 134th birth anniversary. Hon Meenatai Jagdhne ,Member Managing Council Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Principal Dr.N.S.Gaikwad, , teaching and administrative staff were present on this occasion. Principal Dr.N.S.Gaikwad, Mayor, Smt Anuradhatai Adik, Vice Principal Dr. A.N.Jagdale, Dr.S.P.Cholke worshipped image of Karmveer Bhaurao Patil.The staff of the college cleaned the campus to pay tribute to Karmveer Bhaurao Patil. College conducted activities like recitation of poetry, essay writing, elocution and rangoli. Hon Yashvant Patane was invited to deliver a talk on 25th September.
Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan
5th September, the birth date of late, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan,former president of India, philosopher, educationist and above all the ‘teacher’ is observed as the ‘Teacher’s Day’ in India.On this occasion many students expressed their gratitude for the teachers. In presidential speech, hon Principal Dr Gaikwad N.S. expressed his views on the responsibilities of the teacher in the face of rapid changes all over the world. Cultural Committee of the college has organized this programme.
Conservation of rain water
The Department of Geography and Department of Botany have taken initiative in the conservation of rain water. In order to absorb the rainwater into the ground, three water recharge stations have been created. This initiative will be helpful for the college to overcome the scarcity of water during the summer.

Rangoli Competition
On the occasion of 134th karmaveer Jayanti, Cultural department of R. B. Narayanrao Borawake college has organized rangoli competition on the themes Karmveer Anna’s life and work ,Corona pandemic and gender equity .The objective behind this activity was to create awareness among students about gender equity, self defence and empowerment of women. Prof.Dr.Bhor and Mrs.Adhav madam worked as examiner for this competition.
inaugurates Literary Association
Online inaugural of Literary Association of R.B. Narayanrao Borawake College was organized on 30th August. Literary Association has invited a famous poet of Marathi literature Shri Banda Joshi to inaugurate the Literary Association. In inaugural speech, he spoke about the role and function literature in moulding the perspectives of life in youth. Later, he presented some of his poems, which were really enjoyed and appreciated by the participants. Hon, Meenatai Jagdhane presided over the function. Hon. Principal Gaikwad N.S. welcomed the guests. Dr.Randhwane Yogita expressed words of gratitude towards participants.
Placement Drive
The El-dorado Biotech Pvt. Ltd Aurangabad conducted online placement drive for the students of M.Sc. Organic and Analytical Chemistry Students. 40 students participated in the interview process. Mr.Tejas Bade, HR Manager El-dorado Biotech Pvt. Ltd. and his team conducted the placement process. Among all the students, 6 students were short listed for the further round. The names of the selected candidates are as follows Mr.Dhanwate Sudarshan, Mr.Shubham Rasane, Mr. Nalwade Vishal, Mr. Deshmukh Abhijeet, Miss. Mona Patare, Miss. Bunge Prajakta
Yoga for Girls
The Vidyarthini manch of RBNB College has organized Lecture of Mr. Sandip Nalage on 17th September 2021. The main purpose behind organizing this lecture is to create awareness about Yoga among the Girl students and faculty members of our college. This online lectures is possible due to the guidance and encouragement given by Hon’ble Principal Dr.N.S. Gaikwad Sir. This online lecture is organized with the kind support, guidance and correspondence by Prof U. K Adhav Madam, Head of Zoology Department.For this lecture Mr. Sandip Nalage of RBNB College Shrirampur, Dist. Ahmednagar was the resource person. The main aim of this lecture is to create awareness about health through yoga activity. Sir has shown some useful yoga postures. He also provided the guidance about Yoga positions. The seminar has received a response with 50 participants.
Campus cleanliness drive
On the occasion of late Padmbhushan Karmveer Bhaurao Patil, the founder of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha ,the teching and administrative staff of the college volunteered for campus cleaning drive on 22nd September, which is also the birth date of Karmveer Bhaurao Patil.This cleanliness drive helps to adhere to the principle of dignity of labour. The Principal of the College, Dr. N. S. Gaikwad, explained the importance of dignity of labor.
New courses started
Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune gave permission to R,B.Narayanrao Borawake college to start M.Sc Geography and B.Sc. Microbiology and BSc Statistics. Considering the demand of the students and parents college has introduced additional division for Analytical Chemistry and BCS.Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune sanctioned research centers for Chemistry and Botany respectively.
