Welcome to R.B. Narayanrao Borawake College Library

The Library of R.B. Narayanrao Borawake College is the heart of the institution and plays a vital role in the academic and research activities of the college. It serves as a dynamic center for learning, teaching, research, and the dissemination of knowledge. The library supports the educational objectives of the institution by preserving, organizing, and providing access to a wide range of information resources.

The college library started functioning as college established in 1960. The library is having a modest collection of books, the library has grown significantly over the years and now houses more than 1,33,569 books along with a rich collection of electronic resources. The continuous development of the library collection reflects the evolving academic and research needs of the institution.

The library performs a variety of functions, including the acquisition, organization, retrieval, and dissemination of information. It provides access to print resources such as textbooks, reference books, journals, magazines, newspapers, and competitive examination materials. In addition, the library offers a wide range of electronic resources to support teaching, learning, and research across all disciplines.

Spread over an area of 10,673.70 Sqft, the library is well organized into various sections, including:

  • Periodical Section
  • Study Room Section
  • E-Resources Section
  • Multimedia Section

The library provides comfortable reading facilities with a seating capacity of approximately 200 users at a time.

The Library Website serves as a gateway to knowledge by providing access to numerous open-access and subscribed electronic resources. Users can access and download e-books, e-journals, theses, dissertations, audiobooks, rare books, manuscripts, e-learning materials, and other scholarly resources through the E-Resources section.

The library caters to the information needs of students and faculty members from Junior College, Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Research programmes. As a large number of students come from rural backgrounds and depend heavily on library resources, the library continuously strives to provide effective and user-centric services.

In addition to modern digital services, the library offers a variety of traditional services such as:

  • Newspaper Clipping Service
  • Previous Years’ Question Papers
  • Inter-Library Loan Service through DELNET
  • User Orientation and Library Training Programmes

To enhance digital literacy and effective utilization of resources, the library regularly organizes training sessions and workshops on the use of e-resources and online databases for students and faculty members.

The library extensively utilizes Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to improve its services. The library is automated using Vriddhi ERP Software for bibliographic management and circulation activities. Facilities such as OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), Web OPAC, Institutional Repository such as RBNB YouTube Channel and Rayat Knowledge Bank, E-Books, E-Journals, and barcode-based circulation services are available to ensure quick and efficient access to information.

The library remains committed to providing quality information services and creating an enriching learning environment for the academic community.

Rules & Regulations

Library guidelines for students

Student should produce their Identity card as and when demanded by the library staff.

Students should enter their names in the entry register.

Keep your belonging at property Counter while entering in the library.

Students should check the books before issuing. If you find any deficiency show it to the staff and take the signature.

Writing, scribbling on or tearing of pages of library books, newspaper, periodicals etc. is prohibited and will be liable for strict action.

If the book is lost, torn or damaged the price of book +10% Extra charge is to be paid as a fine.

All the books of library must be returned last day of annual examination

Book Bank facility is available in the library.

Students must keep silence in the library & reading hall.

Periodicals, Reference books will not be issued outside the library.

Fine of Rs. 1.00 will be imposed for late return of books per day per book

Use of Mobile phones is strictly prohibited inside the Reading hall..
