Department of Political Science is established in the year 1960. Political Science as a special subject (UG) was introduced from 1974. Post graduate department of Political Science started from 1989. The faculties Dr. B. S. Tonde (Head of Department), Dr. M. E. Auti and Mr. R. R. Raut (Visiting faculty) are working as a UG teachers as well as PG teachers. Dr. B. S. Tonde completed his Ph.D. work on ‘Role of local political elites in the process of political socialization: Special reference to member’s local self institutions in Beed district’ from Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathawada University Nanded and Dr. M. E. Auti completed his Ph.D. work on ‘New Social Movement in Maharashtra, Special reference to Ahmednagar District’ from Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Dr. B. S. Tonde has completed two minor research project sanctioned by B.C.U.D., S. P. Pune University and UGC respectively. Dr. M. E. Auti Published three books entitled An Introduction of Indian Constitution Part-I, An Introduction of Indian Constitution Part-II, and Democracy Election and Governance respectively. Faculties of departments has attended 35 National and state level Conferences/seminars and they also published 25 research papers in various Conferences/seminars and journals.  For the convenience of the students in covid-19 pandemic situation, the faculties developed their own ICT skills and they are carried out the teaching and evaluation work with the help of Google Meet, Classroom and Zoom as online teaching methods. At present, a total of 562 students are studying at the special and general level in the Department of Political Science. Department also organized various guest lecturers for UG and PG students.

Objectives

  •             To aware students about Indian constitution
  •             To make aware about the emerging trends in political science
  •             To introduce the learners to the research dimensions in Political Science
  •             To enable for studying the contemporary issues on the basis of political ground
  •             To study the social, political and economic influence on human behavior
